The City Administrator is seeking to hire a mature and experienced leader and team player who can can easily gain the confidence of the city organization and Smyrna community. The Assistant City Administrator must posess a passion for public service, a deep knowledge of local government and a demonstrated ability to be a team player..
Smyrna, located in Cobb County 10 minutes from Atlanta, Smyrna's population is over 55,000 and the City covers over 16 square miles. Smyrna employs 425 employees and carries an annual budget of over $90,000,000. Smyrna is a full service city and is considered one of the most desirable communities to live in the metro Atlanta area.
The Assistant City Administrator is responsible for assisting the Administrator in managing the operations of the city government and for oversight of several departments, as assigned by the City Administrator.
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

Team player with a quiet confidence who carries the gravitas and maturity to step into leadership roles when necessary.
Understanding of large capital projects and the management/administrative skills to be an asset for the City in moving city projects forward seamlessly.
Independent actor with experience to balance informing the City Administrator without burdening their time. Wisdom to use appropriate judgment without overstepping their bounds.
Ability to take on tasks with minimal assistance and guidance. Articulate with capable writing skills. Diplomatic team player who has demonstrated loyalty and integrity.
Starting salary range goes from $93K up to $116K. Exceptional benefit package.
