ICMA's Global Engagement Team is seeking a dynamic Project Management Professional to fulfill the role of Assistant Program Manager (APM) to support the work of the Global Engagement Team. ICMA's Global Engagement Team is responsible for a variety of initiatives related to the implementation of ICMA's Global Engagement Strategy and growing the ICMA network around the world. The APM will be responsible for a range of project management and administrative tasks related to the initiatives. The APM will report to the Senior Program Manager and will work collaboratively with the Program Manager, Global Communications and Marketing and Managing Director, Global Engagement.

The Assistant Program Manger salary is based on experience level and ranges between $52,695 and $60,599.

What You'll Do

Provide critical administrative, financial, programmatic, project management, and operational support for the Global Engagement Team.
Support the work of the Global Engagement Committee through scheduling meetings, notetaking, and assisting with Committee projects.
Support Global Engagement marketing efforts by maintaining contact with contributors and assisting with basic website updates.
Support program implementation for new or redesigned engagement initiatives such as peer-to-peer or city-to-city exchanges, fellowships; or other efforts.
Liaise with the ICMA Conferences, Events, and Sponsorships (CES) on international registrations including providing letters of invitation and other supporting documents for global attendees.
Support planning of in-person meetings and exchanges.
Support global organizational relationship management through agreement fulfillment and renewal processes.
What You Need to Be Successful in This Role

Bachelor's degree in international relations, public affairs, planning, communications, or other related discipline.
Up to three years applicable experience (may include internships and/or volunteer work).
Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with local government or international organization/firm.
Experience with Program Administration or Project Management
Proficiency in a second language.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Clear and effective written and oral communication skills.
Exceptional organizational, follow through, and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and deadlines, adapt to changing constraints and priorities, and propose solutions to problems and challenges.
Interpersonal skills to build and work with cross-functional teams, members, and external partners in a decentralized and remote office environment.
Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and Teams; familiarity with virtual communication platforms and collaboration tools such Doodle, Microsoft Forms, and Monday.com.
Knowledge of using content management and/or project management systems.

This position is based out of ICMA's headquarters, located in Washington, D.C. At this time, all ICMA staff are working remotely. The selected individual must be able to work the core business hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm EST. Our office will remain operational and accessible for staff to use on a voluntary basis.

A high-speed Internet connection is required. Personnel will provide the Internet service at their own expense. The internet connection must be of sufficient bandwidth to allow the team member to efficiently perform their regular job functions.
