Program Manager I - Economic Development Department

The Program Manager I vacancy exists in the Economic Development Department that will report to the Deputy Redevelopment Director of Economic Development. The Program Manager I will assist with grant implementation and economic development activities specific to key developments in South Stockton, Downtown Stockton and along the Waterfront. The Program Manager I will need to understand the overarching goals of the Department and develop implementation strategies with measurable outcomes designed for maximum community impact. The Program Manager I will be responsible for tracking and monitoring Department performance metrics, as well as developing short, medium, and long-term grant development strategies. The Program Manager I will work a City of Stockton 9/80 schedule: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fridays, with alternating Fridays off. The incumbent in this position may be required to work additional hours and/or weekends as needed by the department.
Under direction, plans, organizes, and administers specialized City programs and projects; directs and coordinates the work of assigned professional and support staff; performs related work as assigned.
Program Manager I is the first level supervisory classification responsible for day-to-day administration of specialized programs, projects, and activities. The incumbent plans, organizes, and administers one or more specialized City programs, projects and activities.
