Assistant Village Administrator

The Village of Sussex, WI is seeking an innovative, energetic, and versatile public administration professional with strong leadership and collaboration skills to join our team. As Assistant Village Administrator, you will manage human resources, direct the community’s information and technology programs, and have the opportunity to provide executive leadership in one of six core service areas—Public Safety, Public Works, Community Development, Parks and Recreation, Clerk/Treasurer, or Finance—depending on your strengths and passions.

In this role, you will work closely with the Village Administrator to implement the strategic plan and operational strategy for our growing community. You will be at the forefront of exciting capital improvement projects, including the Village Park Master Plan, annual road programs, and the library expansion project. As a member of our 10-person Management Team, you will play a critical role in the Village's decision-making processes.

Sussex has a history of stable Board leadership, solid finances and a commitment to excellence in the work that we do. For over 40 years the Village has been professionally managed by long-tenured Village Administrators. The organization has seen only three Assistant Village Administrators in the last 22 years. Qualifications:
• A Master’s Degree in Public Administration or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible municipal management experience is required.
• Three years of supervisory experience is preferred.

Salary and Benefits:
• Starting salary range: $93,500 – $115,000, depending on qualifications.
