Salary: $140,000 to $160,000 DOQ

The City of Northlake, “The Friendly City”, is seeking is looking for its next finance director. Northlake is a stable and financially sound local government located just 17 miles from downtown Chicago with a population of 12,840.
The Director is responsible for preparing and monitoring the City’s budget, overseeing the City’s liability, property and health insurance policies and claims; overseeing the annual audit; managing back reconciliations; preparing the tax levy; payable and accounts receivables; water billing; risk management; accounting, auditing and grant compliance; personnel, payroll and employee benefits; and information technology.
The City prefers a candidate with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration or a related discipline. Also, at least three years’ experience in finance and accounting management desired. Experience in the public sector is preferred, which could also include an auditor with municipal experience.
