The City of Dunn, North Carolina is seeking its next City Manager. Operating under a non-partisan council-manager form of government, the City Manager serves as the City’s Chief Executive Officer and reports to the City’s Mayor and six-member City Council.
The position is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising all activities and operations of City government. The City Manager leads a staff of approximately 165 employees that deliver public services including water, wastewater, finance, public safety, parks and recreation, planning, and engineering. The City Manager is also responsible for overseeing the City’s budget and budget activities. The FY 24-25 Budget totals almost $24 million.
The Ideal candidate will be dynamic and innovative with the ability to guide the City as it navigates future growth opportunities and implements strategic initiatives. The City seeks a leader that will cultivate a collaborative work environment and effectively form partnerships with community leaders, key stakeholders, and citizens to achieve success for projects vital to the successful implementation of the City’s vision for the future. The candidate should have the ability to collaborate with partners to further advance the City’s economic development and infrastructure priorities, including the Advanced Life Science and Skills Training Center currently under construction and the expansive Interstate 95 widening project.
