Do you have a passion for managing budgets and capital improvement programs? As the Performance & Budget Manager, you'll facilitate strategic and operational resource alignment through budget process management, financial planning and analysis, and performance management programs. This role supports the City’s High-Performance Organization leadership model, engaging team members in strategic financial decision-making through inclusive, broad-based financial and performance processes. You'll also address various management issues impacting the City’s overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field to municipal government budgeting and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in budget and performance analysis or a closely related position in City or County government agency .
Two (2) years of supervisory, team leader, or project management experience preferred

Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification preferred
Valid Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Working knowledge of:
municipal budgeting, State TRIM requirements, and financial reporting
research methods and techniques
City, State, and Federal laws governing the purchasing process for the City and municipal management theory and processes
process improvement and performance management concepts
Excellent project management skills
Advanced skills in:
project management
using business software (especially spreadsheets/analytical software applications) and learning new software as required
Excellent interpersonal skills (tact /diplomacy)
Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and decision-making
