Under the supervision of the Director of Development Services, the Assistant Director of Grants and Administration directs the activities and operations of the Administrative Division. In addition to supervising a team of full-time staff, responsibilities include budget administration, grants administration, business licensing, customer service, special projects, marketing and communications. As a representative of management, this position also supports the mission, vision, strategic plan, goals and decisions of the department and the city.
Key Job Duties include:
1. Supervises a team comprised of customer service professionals and a grants administrator
2. Conducts analytical research for various department operations, functions and programs; manages special projects including research, analysis, and policy development as directed by the Director of Development
Services.
3. Provides overall direction, assists, and monitors the preparation of the budget for all Development Services Department divisions and assists Central Building Services (CBS) when needed.
4. Supervises the administration of grants including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).
5. Directly works with grantors such as the United Stated Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
6. Provides management and oversight of the grants programs and ensures full compliance with Federal, State and City regulations, policies and procedures, reporting, and audit requirements.
7. Prepares and provides various reports and presentations to City Council, Council Committees, external organizations and other public groups.
