You will take on culture initiatives, large scale technology projects (i.e. Integrated financial/HR/Utility Billing software program (ERP)) and overhaul administrative changes in governing documents. This Deputy role will not only serve as the project manager for these functions but would also serve the critical role of pulling all subject matter experts together to gather the information necessary to produce a final work product. Work products could include creating and implementing project plans and timelines, creating specific work plans related to major IT initiatives and policy improvements, serving as the primary project manager for the ERP system implementation, facilitating cross-functional teams and creating policies and procedures.
As the Deputy City Manager, you will actively serve as a change agent by stimulating, communicating, and institutionalizing process improvement initiatives using a variety of tools across various functions. In this role, you will consistently solve Citywide challenges. You will be the go-to person to help implement, promote, and set the standard on innovation across the organization. You will promote, demonstrate, and authentically communicate the benefits of process improvement initiatives and strategies. You'll have a passion for details while keeping your eye on the big picture, employ strong presentation skills, demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, apply creative ideas through meaningful collaboration, jump in and understand nuanced and complex departmental functions to explore opportunities for service enhancements through technology and streamlining processes and of course, enjoy a fast-moving and innovative organization.
