For nearly 20 years, the ICMA Strategic Partners program has strengthened the mission of ICMA. Strategic Partners provide resources in support of ICMA’s research and content, professional development, training, and networking activities.

In the last year, a number of strategic partners have engaged with ICMA beyond their general or executive level partnership benefits:

•       BoardDocs is connected to ICMA through a specialized advertising package, conference sponsorships, and content creation.

•      Center for Public Safety Management (CPSM) is ICMA’s preferred provider of public safety technical assistance and also a provider of educational and information content through ICMA’s professional development platforms.

•       Cigna has recommitted to ICMA for the next 3 years and will be bringing its expertise to members through various thought-leadership pieces and conference mediums.

•       DudeSolutions sponsored a free-to-members webinar on how to build a culture of excellent facilities management.

•       eCivis and The Ferguson Group, LLC sponsored ICMA’s two scholarships to the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executives in Local Government program.

•       Esri, an ICMA Strategic Partner since the program began, has worked with ICMA on a number of joint projects to help educate members on the value of GIS technology.  In 2016, Esri and ICMA collaborated on a series of six Smart Communities case studies that show how local governments are using GIS technology to create smarter communities.

•       Fitch & Associates wrote an article for ICMA’s PM magazine, offering their expertise on emergency management services.

•       ICMA-RC continues its generous and lasting support of ICMA through professional development opportunities and conference sessions and by expanding its support of Life, Well Run

•       IBTS (Institute for Building Technology and Safety) and ICMA will be embarking on a joint e-publication on Smart Cities. This publication is intended to provide a solid understanding of Smart Cities technology and present a series of case studies to highlight how cities and counties are using technology to create a more effective and efficient local government.

•       Microsoft has committed to help address and inform ICMA members about cybersecurity solutions through combined research, content, and professional development.

•       The National Research Center continues to partner with ICMA to offer communities data-driven tools, such as the National Citizen Survey, to help managers better understand the perceptions of their residents.

•       Hyland, creator of Onbase, continues to support many of ICMA’s efforts in advancing smart technology solutions through ICMA’s Advisory Panel on Technology Content. The Advisory Panel will host a special session, Managing Local Government Technology, on Tuesday, September 27, 12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.

•       Republic Services is one of the annual conference’s major sponsors and also hosted a free-to-members webinar on the state of recycling.

•       The Retail Coach participated in a webinar offering its expertise on retail revitalization.

•       SAS has been a development partner of ICMA and has been a sponsor of the ICMA Annual Conference

•       Shaanxi Land Engineering and Construction Group has become ICMA’s first China-based strategic partner and will be supporting ICMA’s research and content activities as well as the Brownfields 2017 conference next year in Pittsburgh, PA

•       Siemens will continue to offer ICMA members its expertise via webinars and other content pieces.

•       Smart Cities Council co-partnered with ICMA on a research project that explored smart city approaches in local communities across the nation.

Nearly all of ICMA's Strategic Partners will be attending or exhibiting during the 2016 Kansas City Annual Conference. When you see them with their partner ribbons, please introduce yourself!
