Job Description

Kingston, MA (13,500 pop.), is seeking an experienced and collaborative leader with strong financial acumen as well as communications, budgeting, and economic development skills to serve as its next Town Administrator. Kingston is a vibrant coastal community in southeastern Massachusetts. Kingston’s local government is led by a five-member Board of Selectmen, has an open Town Meeting form of government, and an FY21 budget of approximately $49 mil. It has an AA+ rating. The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), preferably in public administration or a related field. Candidates should have experience in municipal administration or similar, relevant administrative activity. Both traditional and non-traditional candidates are encouraged to apply. Candidates should have a proven record of leadership, have a collaborative management style, and be a strategic thinker. Candidates should know how to lead through influence, be able to provide inspiration, and be innovative, analytical, and highly professional. The successful candidate will receive an attractive compensation package including health and retirement plans and an annual salary of $150K+/- DOQ, with an FY21 salary maximum of $150K.
