The City of Missoula, widely known as one of the most livable cities in the U.S., is hiring a Deputy Director of Development Services Division of the Community Planning, Development & Innovation Department, in their mission of promoting equitable growth and a resilient, sustainable community. Reporting to the Director of Community Planning, Development & Innovation, the Deputy Director, serves as a member of the department’s leadership team, ensuring the efficient and responsive application of code and the delivery of development services. The Deputy Director of Development Services manages initiatives and staff in land use planning, code compliance, and the building divisions.

The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to public service and meeting the needs of a diverse, progressive community. An effective communication style will include the ability to build consensus among diverse individuals, resolve conflict, and generate support for strategic initiatives and departmental goals is essential.
