The Town of New Hampton, NH (approx. 2,200 pop.) is seeking an energetic, collaborative, and forward-thinking professional to serve as its next full-time Town Administrator. Located in the beautiful Lakes Region of central New Hampshire, New Hampton is a quintessential New England community just minutes from Lakes Winnipesaukee, Winnisquam, and Newfound with their abundant year-round recreational opportunities. Conveniently located off I-93, New Hampton is just 30 minutes south of Franconia Notch and the scenic White Mountains; 35 minutes north of the State Capital, Concord; and two (2) hours north of Boston.
With an SB2 form of government led by a three-member Select Board, the Town Administrator oversees an operating budget of $4.1M with 19 full-time employees. The Town administrator is responsible for the effective administration of municipal operations to support the Select Board in achieving the Town’s goals. The successful candidate will have effective communication and organizational skills, strong leadership, problem-solving and decision making along with the ability to collaboratively work with elected officials, staff and the public. Experience with budget preparation and strong finance skills (in a municipal setting preferred).
A bachelor’s degree in public administration or related field, at least five (5) years progressively responsible experience in municipal government, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required.
