Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP), is seeking an innovative, strategic, and visionary leader with demonstrated success in implementing best practices of diversity equity and inclusion to become LADWP’s first Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer (CDEIO). The Office of DEI and the Chief position was established to implement, and advance DEI policies and goals adopted by the Board of Commissioners to advance racial and social equity in all aspects of LADWP’s operations.
Appointed by and reporting to the General Manager, the Chief is the expert technical advisor on department-wide matters of diversity, equity, inclusion, and disparities. Supported by an Assistant Chief and a team of 75+, the Chief is responsible for developing, leading and directing LADWP’s DEI programs and initiatives to ensure diversity, equity and social justice practices are operationalized within all divisions, offices, and units of LADWP.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited institution and at least 7-10 years of management experience. Demonstrated successful organizational, transformational experience is critical and experience working in a unionized public agency is strongly preferred.
