Job Description

The Director of Utilities shall work under the direct supervision of the Deputy Administrator. This is a highly independent and responsible executive level position that supervises and directs the day-to-day operations of water distribution and wastewater collections; manages the field emergency operations for Water Utilities; provides construction information, recommendations, and technical assistance to County Administration; attends all meetings related to County Administration and Public Utilities; prioritizes order of construction projects and lays out daily work schedules; and oversees construction projects including CIP projects, and supervising contractors and consultants. This position administers department budget and authorizes related expenditures; and is regularly responsible for funds, building premises, inventory, or other property owned or leased by the organization and, in addition, may have temporary custody and responsibility of patron property, which through carelessness, error, loss, theft, misappropriation, or similar action would result in very important monetary losses to the organization.
