Job Description

Known for its extraordinary organizational culture and considered the center of the Silicon Valley, the City of Mountain View (pop. 81,000) is home to many internationally known corporations such as Google, Microsoft, Intuit, and LinkedIn. A new position reporting initially to the City Manager, the Chief Communications Officer will have the rare opportunity to design and implement a comprehensive communications program for this incredibly dynamic city.

The ideal candidate will bring an entrepreneurial approach to building a cutting-edge program that surpasses local government norms and standards. He/she will be a self-starter who is energized by a fast-paced environment that rewards innovation and continuous improvement. Five years of increasingly responsible experience in public communications, public relations, marketing, or related field and a bachelor’s degree are required. Municipal and/or non-profit experience is desirable.
