The Town of Kremmling, Colorado (pop. 1,600) is seeking a creative and personable individual to fill the position of Police Chief. Starting salary is $70,000 to $80,000/year DOQ, DOE. The person hired for this position will fill a position that is supported by the community and its elected officials.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of law enforcement experience, with a minimum of 3+ years of supervisory experience at the rank of Sergeant or above. An associate’s degree from an accredited school is preferred and a bachelor's degree in a related field is desirable. Experience as a police chief or assistant police chief in a similar size community is preferred. Experience in governmental budgeting, time management, and community relations is required. The police chief is required to serve as a patrolman while supervising a staff of three officers. Applicants must be Colorado POST certified and maintain such certification. Applicants must be able to pass an extensive background check, including drug and alcohol testing.
