The Clayton County Water Authority is seeking an Information Technology Director to join the team. Clayton County Water Authority serves the unincorporated area of Clayton County, and six cities through approximately 82,000 customer accounts. The Authority has five raw water reservoirs and can produce up to 42 million gallons per day of potable water and treat up to 38.4 million gallons of wastewater every day. Clayton County is situated just south of Atlanta, Georgia with Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport located in the very northern part of the County. The county is one of Georgia’s smallest counties in terms of land size with an area of only 143 square miles; however, with more than 270,000 residents it is one of the state’s most densely populated. Within Clayton County, there are six incorporated cities: Forest Park, Jonesboro, Lake City, Lovejoy, Morrow and Riverdale.
The Clayton County Water Authority is seeking a talented professional Information Technology (IT) Director to lead the IT Department to the next level of service. The IT Director will need to be a dedicated leader with technical skills and abilities to quickly gain the confidence of the Board, General Manager, and users of IT services. The IT Director must possess the ability to build trust through the development of partnerships and use of proven engagement and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to embrace change and help guide the Authority through important IT challenges. The successful candidate will be expected to articulate a vision of excellence, establish credibility and consistency in delivery of IT services, motivate others within the department and provide creative problem solving in response to IT challenges and issues. The IT Director should demonstrate an approachable personality with a focus on customer service. Must have the ability to anticipate customer needs and go the “extra mile” to provide quality service within the bounds of CCWA policies. This position will require the skill and ability to carefully consider the impact of decisions internally and externally; both in the short term and long term while demonstrating the ability to see the big picture and the impact of change to Customers, other departments, as well as CCWA systems and process.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
• Five years’ experience in computer operations, computer networking, database management, storage and systems development and design in a similarly sized organization is required.
• Three years’ experience in a supervisory or director capacity within an IT Department is required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft networking and operating systems, Cisco networking, security, and VoIP products, SCADA systems, JD Edwards ERP Administration, cyber-security concepts and best practices, and proven vendor management skills, highly desired.
Compensation & Benefits:
Starting salary for this position, depending on qualifications (DOQ) of the selected candidate, is expected to be $120,000 - $140,000 with a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, defined benefit pension plan with 13.9% contribution by CCWA, paid time off, and negotiable relocation expenses.
