The City of Columbia, MO is now accepting applications for the position of Internal Auditor in the City Manager’s Office. This position will conduct internal audits for the City of Columbia’s government and develop revisions to City policy and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance with state and federal regulations. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with 5 years of experience in either auditing or governmental accounting. CPA and/or CIA certification preferred. Considerable knowledge of accounting and auditing; governmental accounting; municipal budgeting, personnel administration, and public administration; statistical research and cost-benefit analysis and general organizational structure and functions of municipal government. Must have the ability to exercise independent judgment in order to read and apply city, state and federal financial and accounting regulations. Maintain strict confidentiality and possess a valid MO Driver’s License.
