Job Description

Palmer Township, Northampton County, PA, a second-class Township, (pop 20,700) seeks a financially skilled and experienced individual to serve as the Director of Finance. The Township has a total annual budget of $34 million. The Director administers all financial activities, including payroll, record keeping, payment of expenses, recording of revenue, financial reporting, budgeting, and supervises a small staff. The Township has a demonstrated history of tenure in its administrative staff, is financially stable and prides itself as one of the premier communities in Northampton County in which to work and live. Candidates should possess a bachelor’s degree in finance, graduate degree preferred, accounting and finance experience, preferably in government, excellent supervisory skills, strong computer aptitude and financial software skills. A positive approach to teamwork and customer service is essential. Municipal experience preferred, but not required. Salary commensurate with experience and excellent employer paid benefits provided.
