Job Description

The purpose of this position is to develop, support, implement, and evaluate citywide diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Work in partnership with Human Resources and City Leadership to implement systemic change through policies and practices. Create processes that achieve parity and remove barriers within the City and its programs and operations; establish learning programs designed to increase awareness and support of diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural proficiency in the organization; and engage and work with various communities to build collaborative partnerships, resolve disparate impacts and advance social justice. The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Director is a member of the City Manager’s management leadership team, and in partnership with the Management Leadership Team and Human Resources, works closely with all City departments and the community to support diversity, equity, inclusion and fair access to opportunity is integrated into planning, institutional change initiatives and are implemented throughout the organization.
