The City of Crestview Hills, KY, is seeking a leader with integrity, outstanding leadership skills, and success as an entrepreneurial and visionary consensus builder as their next City Administrator. Crestview Hills is considered one of the top residential and business locations in Northern Kentucky. Located seven miles south of downtown Cincinnati, four miles from the International Airport, and next to Interstates 75 and 275, the City has benefited from both an ideal location and smart growth policies. Crestview Hills maintains one of the lowest overall tax burdens of any community in the metropolitan region for both businesses and residents.

The City is unique in that most of the services are contracted out to public and private vendors. Public Safety services are contracted to a joint police authority and adjoining City fire departments. Public works activities are largely contracted to the private sector, and business tax collections are provided by the County government through a consortium of other cities. The City Administrator oversees the activities of two full-time and two part-time staff. Another FTE has been funded for the current fiscal year. The Administrator is directly responsible for a number of functions, including zoning administration, administering ABC licenses, directing all economic development activities, serving as the public works director, and human resources administrator. The City operates under the Mayor-Council form of government.

A successful candidate will ideally possess a master’s degree in public administration or equivalent and 5 years of increasingly responsible professional experience in municipal government management at the level of City Manager/City Administrator or Assistant City Manager/Administrator in a comparable sized local government organization or at the department head level in a larger organization. ICMA credentialling is a plus. Must have a proven track record in effective budget development and management, execution of capital improvement projects, a successful economic development record, intergovernmental relations, community involvement and accessibility, and engagement in professional organizations. The initial hiring range for the position is $90,000 to $110,000, with an outstanding benefit package. Reasonable relocation expenses will be considered during the contract negotiation process.
