Chief Information Officer/Director of Information Technology

The City of Dayton is seeking an accomplished technology executive with change managerial experience to serve as its Chief Information Officer/Director of Information Technology.
Dayton (Pop. Approximately 140,000) is a Midwestern city in southwestern Ohio that is located centrally within the American heartland. The CIO/Director of IT will have broad responsibilities for managing, maintaining, and planning the entire technology footprint for the City of Dayton organization and will facilitate the delivery and maintenance of IT solutions for the City’s 16 operational departments that include public safety and a city-operated commercial airport. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate their ability to develop and execute an information technology strategy that is aligned with the City’s business operations objectives and citizen demand. With a budget of over $7 million, The CIO/Director of IT will provide leadership to approximately 30 professional staff members and be responsible for management of a portfolio of IT solutions, services and suppliers designed to ensure best value to the City of Dayton.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant management experience coupled with the implementation of information services, technology and operations. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field is required and a Master’s degree is preferred. Ten plus years of progressive technology experience (to include five or more years of management experience) with a track record of significant and successful strategic responsibility and leadership of people is required.
