The City of Montrose is hiring a Community Engagement Specialist. This position will work to engage all members of the community to foster increased civic engagement. You will serve as a city liaison to citizens regarding health and wellbeing topics including, but not limited to, subsidized housing opportunities, homelessness, neighborhood building, food access, healthy community initiatives, childcare, and other related topics. You will design and implement engagement efforts for City departmental projects. Coordinate partnerships with outside organizations and internal departments to meet community goals. This position reports to the Senor Planner and will work closely with all City departments.
Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in political science, public administration, business administration, communications or a related field preferred. Must have demonstrated experience working with community organizations, non-profit organizations, or government organizations. Experience working on planning or community development efforts, including experience with and understanding of zoning regulations, preferred. Spanish bilingual preferred.
