About the instructor:
Brian Elms is a Denver-based organizational innovation expert who trains government employees at every level and department imaginable how to make the work of public service more satisfying — for both sides of the equation. He shows you how to take the mind-numbing, time-wasting, bureaucratic run-around out of everyday tasks to make them quicker and more reliable. You know, the stuff that drives you crazy and frustrates community members. This is how to break the Groundhog’s Day cycle at work, because when your job satisfaction goes up so does customer satisfaction, and vice versa.
When you uncork the bottlenecks with common-sense solutions you design yourself, great things happen. Brian’s work to improve systems with thousands of people across the country has resulted in monumental time and money savings for governments and tax-payers. Brian is a Lean Black Belt, a certified Six Sigma Green Belt, and a Change Management Professional. In his prior role as Director of the Peak Academy, he developed curriculum, training, and consulting services that focus on employee-led performance management and continuous improvement. Since its inception in 2012, Peak Academy initiatives have saved the City and County of Denver more than $30 million and the Academy has provided training to more than 7,000 public and nonprofit professionals.
Through his highly entertaining trainings, you’ll discover how to analyze your work tasks, formulate better ways to complete them, map out how to get from A to B, and put your solutions into play. Best of all, you’ll be able to measure results and report them to prove how your innovations are making a difference. With tried-and-true tricks-of-the-trade, Brian helps you recognize where you can make improvements and how to bring them about without requiring new investments in technology. In other words, your boss is going to love you— even more than they do right now!
Brian is the CEO and Founder of Change Agents Training to focus on creating employee-driven innovation programs around the country. He is currently working with more than a dozen governments to launch programs and establish meaningful innovation programs that improve the lives of employees and their clients.
