Free ICMA Coaching Webinar | Recording available to registrants

Join us to explore proven strategies for upholding integrity, transparency, and accountability with local government staff despite the unethical behavior of elected officials. We will review Tenets 3 through 7 of the ICMA Code of Ethics and discuss how these tenets are meant to support local government leadership. Our seasoned experts will share practical approaches for maintaining a course of ethical leadership, fostering a culture of responsibility, and safeguarding the trust of the community.

Objectives:

  1. Review ICMA’s Code of Ethics, Tenets 3 through 7, and understand how they apply to a situation in which an elected official is taking actions that are unethical.
  2. Learn practical approaches to creating a culture of responsibility on your team.
  3. Identify strategies to maintain the confidence of the community without undermining unethical elected officials.
