This is the 2010 nomination of Washington, DC's COG Chief Administrative Officers Committee for the Community Partnership Award. County Executive Anthony Griffin and Executive Director David Robertson are credited with aiding in the development of this program to develop regional responses to important issues such as the environment, affordable housing, economic development, human services, growth, public safety, and transportation. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for consensus building and policy-making, implements intergovernmental policies, plans, and programs, and serves as an expert information source. The actions of this Committee are based on the four central goals of peer networking, identification and implementation of best practices, supporting and strengthening regional decision-making, and strengthening regional emergency preparedness and response.
