For the FY 2013 data collection cycle, the survey consists of a single, straightforward (albeit, lengthy) PDF document. It can be downloaded from the CPM website now.

Primary coordinators (PCs) are strongly encouraged to download the survey PDF and save it on a server where jurisdiction colleagues can access it.  Jurisdictions that plan to submit their FY 2013 data for the midyear data submission deadline should now be well into the data collection process with staff collecting data and recording it using whatever method is convenient for them.

Jurisdictions will submit FY 2013 data to CPM by recording their collected data in an easy-to-use Excel workbook and e-mailing it to us. The workbook will be available for download from the CPM website on September 3, 2013.

PCs should download the Excel response form to a server as well.  Then, service area specialists can just take a few minutes to transfer their collected data into the consolidated reporting form.

After the PCs have reviewed all of the data and completed the general government and demographics section, they are to e-mail the Excel response form to CPMSurveys@icma.org. PCs should also save a copy of their completed response form for their jurisdiction’s files. Remember, only one Excel response form can be accepted from each jurisdiction, so PCs must be sure all of the jurisdiction’s data is recorded on the form before e-mailing it to CPM.
