The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission seeks an experienced planning professional to serve as Director of Regional Planning and Operations, a senior leadership role guiding regional planning initiatives and supporting organizational operations. The TJPDC serves Albemarle, Greene, Fluvanna, Louisa, Nelson Counties and the City of Charlottesville, advancing regional collaboration in housing, transportation, community development, environmental planning, broadband, economic development, and legislative services.
Responsibilities include:
• Leading regional planning initiatives and programs
• Supervising planning staff and supporting professional development
• Managing grants and regional planning projects
• Supporting member jurisdictions with data collection and analysis, planning, and policy analysis
• Supporting agency operations including procurement, compliance, and organizational policy development
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in planning, public administration, or related field
• 8–10 years of progressively responsible planning experience
• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
• American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and Virginia Contracting Agent (VCA) certification required or obtainable within one year of hire
Salary Hiring Range:
$103,834 – $114,125
