The City of Arnold, Missouri is seeking a dynamic, experienced and strategic professional to serve as our next City Administrator. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of all city departments, implementing policies set by the City Council, managing the annual budget, and driving key initiatives that improve the quality of life for our residents. Arnold has a population of 21,000 and a total of 237 employees.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, business, or a related field; and a master’s degree in public or business administration or related field is preferred. Five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in local government management; experience as an administrator, assistant administrator, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired experience also includes excellent communication skills. The ability to connect positively with the public as well as connect with elected officials and successfully carry out their desired vision for the city. Astute understanding of employee benefits (medical insurance, pensions, etc.) as well as the dynamics of heading a large employee base. Solid understanding of all facets of economic development.
Starting salary range is $140,000 - $170,000 +/ - DOQ. Additional salary may be considered for currently employed individuals with verified proof of current salary. Excellent benefit package including a defined benefit pension funded by the City. LAGERS L-6 (2%). The City will review applications as received. The position is open until it is filled.
