Are you a seasoned financial professional with a passion for public service? Lower Paxton Township is seeking a dynamic Finance Director to lead the daily operations of our Finance Department. With oversight of over municipal funds, this leadership position plays a critical role in managing the Township's budgeting, accounting, payroll, and financial reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee all municipal accounting and financial operations.
* Prepare monthly and quarterly invoices to the Lower Paxton Township Authority.
* Generate financial reports for management and the Board of Supervisors.
* Coordinate and manage annual audits.
* Supervise and support finance department staff.
* Ensure compliance with GAAP and GASB standards.
* Participate in policy development and implement finance-related procedures.
* Maintain fixed asset records and track insurance and legal claims.
* Manage payroll systems and employee benefits accounting.
Qualifications:
* Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, including at least 15 credit hours in accounting.
* Experience: 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and financial management, preferably in municipal government. Experience with payroll and employee benefits is a plus.
* Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, accounting software, and enterprise fund accounting.
* Certifications & Licenses: Valid driver’s license required.

* A deep understanding of governmental accounting principles and GASB standards.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
* Experience supervising and mentoring staff.
* A proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Integrity and professionalism when working with confidential information.

Working Environment:

* Office-based with standard hours and occasional evening meetings.
* Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs.
* Normal exposure to office-related noise and distractions.
