Needham, MA (32,091 pop.), is seeking high-energy Town Manager who will provide exemplary leadership to the organization, think strategically, and work collaboratively with all stakeholders in the community. It is critical that the Town Manager have a pulse on the community; recognize various constituencies and listen to residents regarding their concerns. Needham wants a Manager who effectively communicates with board members, residents, and taxpayers and who can articulate the issues and disseminate information so the community can make informed decisions. The Town is seeking a Manager who will uphold the culture of professionalism and will respect, trust, and empower employees. Needham, a desirable suburb of Boston, is a primarily residential suburban community with a highly regarded school system, a well-managed town, and a strong sense of community. It has a walkable downtown, three exits off I-95/Route 128, and four commuter rail stations. Needham has a Representative Town Meeting form of government with a Town Manager and five-member Select Board. It has an AAA rating and FY25 budget of $244.3M. Preferred candidates will have an advanced degree, preferably in public administration or a related field, and experience as a Town Manager/Administrator or Assistant Town Manager/Administrator.
Annual salary: $220K+/- DOQ. AA/EOE.
