Salary Range: $103,750-$155,625

We're seeking a highly organized, relationship-focused and detail-oriented individual, who has a passion for public service, to be the right hand to our County Manager.
As the Assistant to the County Manager, you will carry out difficult and highly complex, specialized assignments and serve as a consultant and advisor that has a substantial impact on countywide operations, programs, and projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve countywide goals.
Conduct in-depth research and analysis to inform decision-making.
Manage complex projects and deadlines with precision.
Provide exceptional administrative support to the County Manager.
Knowledge and skills you’ll need to be successful:
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Proven ability to analyze complex data, solve problems, and make informed decisions.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a keen attention to detail.
Proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and budgeting.
Knowledge of government policies, procedures, and regulations.
Ability to build consensus, foster teamwork, and lead projects.
Must be proficient in working with computers and spreadsheets including pivot tables and high-level dynamic reporting. Proficient using Google Suite is strongly preferred.
Possess a strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles and their application in decision-making in a County Government.
Qualifications needed:
Experience:
Five (5) years' progressively responsible administrative, advisory or staff capacity experience in analyzing and making recommendations for the solutions to problems of procedure, budget, legislation, government, personnel or similar complex problems.
Expertise in one or more of the current strategic priorities: workforce and affordable housing, climate, natural resources and water quality, economic development, early childhood care, wildfire mitigation, or transportation.
Preferred Work Experience:
Experience working with elected officials at the local, state, and federal level.
Experience working with Colorado counties.
Basic data analysis skills.
Project management experience.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree. Ideal areas of study may include political science, public policy, public administration, law, environmental studies, public affairs, urban planning, or business administration. Or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which produces the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
A Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, or other closely related field is preferred.
Licensure:
A driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle check is required.
