Manager Business Operations - Finance & Budget

The purpose of this position is to manage and oversee the business and operational practices of some or all the Parks, Arts, & Recreation funds, including all financial components of major venues and events for assigned funds. Responsibilities include developing and administering financial systems and procedures in conjunction with City Policies to provide complete operational oversight and to refine and develop new revenue streams that will allow certain venues to operate as separate and independent business operations such as food and beverage; merchandise sales; and rentals.

Manages and oversees business operational practices of some or all Parks, Arts, & Recreation funds , and any/all other designated major venues and events as assigned.

Develops revenue streams and cost controls by refining current revenue streams while developing new streams within assigned fund(s). Identifies and implements opportunities for cost control in assigned operations.

Supervises and monitors a group of employees, including assigning work, hiring and firing, disciplinary actions and evaluating performance.

Serves as a liaison to city departments and committees on operational and/or business-related affairs relative to the assigned enterprise operations.

Prepares and presents annual operational and capital budgets to City Management, City Officials, and/or the public as required.

Prepares and presents periodic financial and operational data to City Management, City Officials, and/or the public as required.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Parks and Recreation Management or related field.

Proficiency in Excel to include knowledge of VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting, and Quick Analysis Tool highly preferred.

Experience: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in an senior level management or higher in Parks, Arts, & Recreation administration, Finance or Accounting related position, preferably within municipal government; An equivalent combination of education and years of experience within a hospitality, entertainment, or recreational discipline may also be considered.

Licenses: Valid Class C Driver's License required.
