Join ICMA's policy partner CapitalEdge for a webinar covering everything you need to know to take advantage of next year's congressional earmarks.

In 2021, Congress brought back the practice of including Community Project Funding/Congressionally Directed Spending (often referred to as “earmarks”) in federal appropriations bills. This funding mechanism provides an opportunity for local governments to secure billions of dollars in funding via their congressional delegation, since nearly half of all Community Project Funding has been provided to governments for projects in areas wastewater and drinking water, road and transportation, flood mitigation, community facilities, emergency services and police services facilities, and more.
Requests for FY 2025 Community Project Funding (CPF) will likely be due to Congressional offices in mid-March 2024.

Join ICMA and partner Capital Edge for a webinar to learn how to best position your local government to take advantage of this funding opportunity. Capital Edge will review the steps that your organization should be taking now to increase the chances of success, and how best to position your community’s project to your House delegation and the Appropriations Committee for funding approval.

Learning Objectives:

  • A complete understanding of the Community Project Funding process
  • How to identify the categories and size of projects that are eligible for Community Project Funding
  • How to select projects that appeal to your congressional delegation and otherwise set your community up for success as you pursue Community Project Funding
  • Avoiding common pitfalls in requesting and implementing Community Project Funding

This webinar is complimentary for ICMA members.
