The article describes the Wittenberg Local Government Management Internship Program (LGMIP) and how municipal governments, struggling with reduced budgets and staff, can benefit from this program by hosting a LGMIP intern. Cites examples of the wide variety of student projects such as community development, planning and zoning, human resources, finance, and many other municipal functions. Lists several host municipalities: Fernandina Beach, Florida; Eau Claire County and Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; the City of Chippewa Falls; Meredith, New Hampshire; and Grand Islands, Nebraska and explains how these cities and counties benefited from participating in this program.
