The City of Pearland is located south of Houston, Texas.  For many of its employees, the City of Pearland is their first employer.  The exponential population growth, the rapid increase in the number of employees and the relative inexperience of many employees prompted the City of Pearland leadership to examine ways to meet the needs of Pearland as it evolves from the small quiet town south of Houston to a thriving metropolis and leading partner in the Texas Gulf Coast. The City’s Human Resources department developed a program that would provide exposure to a myriad of topics necessary for success in municipal environments.  The Strategic Supervisor Series (SSS) is a twelve (12) – month program that provides an introduction to many areas with which supervisors/managers deal and/or a “refresher” for more tenured supervisors who may need clarity regarding their responsibilities.
