AI Conf -LGRC

Decisions local governments make to use AI-driven applications can bring related public policy questions. In addition, the use of AI can drive public policy choices and decisions. Today, AI is infused into a wide range of technologies (it's not just for drafting press releases!). Examples include traffic controls, potable water treatment, public safety body worn cameras, downtown environmental sensors, hiring and employee evaluation, budget development, building access/security devices and much more. This session will review the range of policies affected by AI-driven tech and how local governments can manage these policies.

Learning Objectives:

  • This session will make local leaders aware of the range policy implications of AI use.
  • Participants will develop an understanding of several specific AI policy use cases.
  • The session will provide examples of how to manage AI-driven policies.
