On May 3, 2010 and May 4, 2010, dialogue between the community and various agencies led to both a heightened awareness and a comprehensive vision for Northeast Central Durham (NECD). This vision sets a foundation for a sustainable-livable community. Sustainable defined as a way of life dedicated to inclusiveness, education, diversity, economic stability, history, and service. These two days of intense discussion and deliberation between community activists, federal, and local agencies reflects not only a new federal administration, but a movement necessary to leave rich legacies for future generations.
