The City of Brooks and the County of Newell created a Joint Services Committee five years ago which has been tasked with exploring different shared services and regional projects. Today, this revolutionary committee is still going strong, implementing cost sharing agreements, multi-million dollar projects, and sharing employees. Without open communication and a forum for discussion, many of these innovations would never have been implemented and cooperation between the two municipalities would not be as cohesive.
