The City of San Antonio's Office of Innovation & Reform was created in FY 2007 with a mission to "identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of City services and business processes." The basic focus of the group is to improve Cit y operations at less cost. The budget savings enable the City to fund other needed services and new priorities for the City Council without raising taxes. Since the group's creation, the projects have resulted in savings of $17.4 million.
