To help alleviate some of the burden on an already overpopulated prison system Fort Myers, FL opened the Bob Janes Triage Center/Low Demand Shelter. The shelter will be used to help redirect individuals who have committed non-violent offenses with behavioral health issues  towards treatment rather than jail. This system has saved time for law enforcement officials and helpd those with behavioral health problems seek proper care.
