On ICMA's Voice's in Local Government podcast, Joshua Pack, Director of Public Works, Butte County, CA shared template used for a simple employee engagement survey. With eight questions on a rating scale and two open-ended questions for more detailed feedback, the survey is meant to give employees an opportunity to share honest and anonymous answers. As Pack explained, the most important part is for managers to actually have, and then communicate authenticity in their desire to hear from staff as well as real intention to implement positive changes.
