This innovative partnership allowed the City to leverage private resources and take advantage of the experience and expertise of the YMCA in order to provide its citizens a facility for recreation, meeting space and both traditional and progressive recreational and community service programs.  The citizens of Austin received a larger facility with more robust programming than they could have received if the City built and operated the facility on its own.
