This is the 2010 nomination of San Jose, California's Green Vision and Strategic Energy Plan for the Community Sustainability Award. City Manager Debra Figone and Chief Deputy City Manager Ed Shikada have been credited with the development of a 15 year plan to create jobs, preserve the environment, and improve the quality of life for all residents. Thus far, San Jose has gained $1 million in annual savings from municipality energy projects.
