This is the 2010 nomination of Las Cruces, New Mexico's Healthy Kids Las Cruces - Conlee Family Fiesta for the Community Partnership Award. City Manager Terrence R. Moore and Public Services Director Lori A. Grumet are credited with developing this program to promote healthy activity and health awareness in a targeted neighborhood in Las Cruces for students and their families. Conlee School partnered with the Cooperative Extension Unit at New Mexico State University to have children try new foods, and learn about healthy eating options and healthy meal preparation to combat child obesity.
