The Village of Arlington Heights, Illinois is nominated for the ICMA 2006 Award for Community Health and Safety, for its community awareness program "Are You Ready." The program is designed to educate and prepare residents for emergencies, so that they can take action to help protect their families, help reduce the impact of an emergency, and help others in times of a catastrophic event or natural disaster when local emergency services become over extended.
