Summer is in full swing and the year-round planning that went into executing your parks and recreation plan is now in action.  As your parks and recreation staff carries out the day-to-day details of the plan, it is up to you to consider the program’s efficiency, and how it can help you achieve all of the policies that you wish to implement.

To this end, I have compiled a list of some of the blog posts that highlight innovation in the execution of the parks and recreation model.  I hope that these messages will inspire and provide you with a few ideas that you had not considered.

  • In her “Bike Paths in Your Community” post on the In the Know blog, Alexandra Iannolo discusses innovations in bikeways that make cycling in your community easier.
  • In her “Festival Tourism” post on the In the Know blog, Popoja Varma discusses some of the finer points of hosting an annual festival in your community.
