Members attending the GAPC meeting stressed the importance of bold, strategic strategies to cope with ongoing fiscal constraints.  They are not counting on financial help from their states or the federal government, though some had success stories to share about achieving a legislative goal with their state by persistent initiative.  Many see shared services and partnerships as an important trend.  Many are concerned about public pension funding. Here are a few websites to start finding out how fiscal policy issues, like sequestration, are hitting close to home:
