Interviews are stressful. I’ve had a lot of them and each time I think it is incredibly awkward (just ask my boss). Many people are on the job hunt and it’s not easy. I like to do something that helps me stand out. I don’t have a cool accent or tattoos, so I usually just wear fun socks. I’m not sure if it helps or not but I do it.
I looked around the Knowledge Network for helpful resources and I struck gold:
- Before you walk into an interview, do your homework. That would include reading this list of tips and common mistakes.
- Also brush up on the answers to the hard questions. This document helps prepare you to explain “being in transition.”
- They (whoever “they” are) say that you should practice for your interview. Someone posted a question a while back asking for examples of good interview questions. Read the answers here.
- And before you head in, remember these top 5 tips.
Going in for an interview can be a bit intimidating but I believe in you. I’ve never conducted an interview but I can imagine it’s stressful, too. If you are looking for a job or are looking for someone to fill an open position, check out our job board.
If you have some great tips for us regarding interviews, leave a comment below. If you have a question, ask it here; while you’re there, answer some questions, too.
Last, but not least, send me your funny stories (everyone needs a good laugh)!
Cheers,
